While South Africans face a lockdown induced economic crisis, Municipal Councils across the country are implementing salary increases for the coming financial period.  

Every day, businesses across South Africa are closing down, and millions are experiencing salary cuts and job losses, due to the impact of economic crisis. Homeowners and businesses already struggle to pay their rates and taxes, yet public servants see fit to carry on as if nothing has happened and are proposing to have their salaries increased. 

As citizens who pay these salaries, we demand that all salary increases for municipality council members are halted immediately.
